Sunday my buddy Chris, my old man, and I went out to a local spot to go out and get our lines wet. we used everything from night crawlers all the way to little crappie jigs and came home with to stringer fulls. We went later in the evening and the bluegills were biting hard we caught about 30 bluegills that day. My dad and Chris used worms with bobbers at the end I used a crappie jig with a purple grub with golden flakes on it. I caught a 2 lbs bass along with a couple 1/2 pounders. We brought them home filleted them and added it to our weekend fish fry.
Monday was our classes senior skip day but only six of us went. We had hamburgers and hot dogs and tons of bluegills. My girlfriend and I were pounding them all day on worms. So I had to switch it up and use something different after awhile. So I pull out this slip bobber and threw it on along with some warm water flies and caught a ton of bluegills two more stringers were full that day; more for the fish fry.
Wednesday My girlfriend and I went out to the hole to try our luck again for the third time this week. The water was high and fast so I didn't think we were going to catch much, but I was wrong. We caught a couple nice size bluegills but threw them back and I caught a nice bass. But the highlight of the day was when I landed a nice crappie on a jig. We cleaned it and brought it back home for "The Fish Fry".
Then Thursday was a fly day. After school two teachers from my high school and I went out to a local creek A.K.A Kettle Creek and fish there. I was swinging two wet flies downstream So was the other teacher. We were catching them all night. I caught a nice brownie and a rainbow. The one was catching brownies and the third guy was catching trout and even landed a sucker fish. Then we went farther down stream to Liedy. We fished the banks with nymphs and we landed a few there and third guy was catching all the odd fish he caught a decent sized bluegill. We had tons of fun and I learned some tricks to the trade.
Hopefully next week will be the same but this time I'm throwing a lot more flies and catching a lot more trout.
