Yesterday I went out to do some fishing with my girlfriend. First we hit the Bush Dam for some bluegill fishing. She caught about 10 bluegill and perch right in the morning, I caught shit. I don't know what its been lately but I haven't been catching many fish. She had on a worm and bobber I was using some spinners. Then I switched over to a worm and bobber to see if that would work and still nothing. I guess the fish only like dog pecker pink fishing rods.
So then we went up to a local fly shop that I never even knew existed called Kettle Creek Tackle Shop. This place was amazing. I bought a few things and we sat around shooting the bull with an older fellow giving us life lessons. Then we went out to her pap's farm on a creek behind his house but they just wern't biting out there.
Then we headed out Young Women's Creek and still haven't caught a single thing. So I dropped her off at work and I headed out to Liedy to do a little bit of fly fishing. I didn't catch shit but I had a good time on the water. I guess this is why I love fishing. You go out and buy all this equipment and don't get a single thing but just being in the woods on the water is the most remarkable thing in the world. When I was out Leidy I had a mallard duck fly right over my head close enough I could have hit him with my rod and the hen just sat in the water like it was in a picture or something. Then when I was leaving to go home I had four elk in a field about 100 yards from where I was wading. The cow was licking on her calf it was pretty cool seeing that. Then about 200 yards where I was standing a big bull elk was wading in the water coming my way. So fishing to me isn't just about the catch it's about the time spent on the water with family and friends and The breathe taking things that you get to see that you don't on an everyday basis.
