It's been awhile since I posted something on my blog but now is the time. On March 19th my girlfriend and I went out to the Bush Dam in Clinton county to check if the ice had melted so we can get some bass fishing in. We go and take a walk and we spot a 36" Palomino trout and a bunch of 12 inchers swimming around it. That got me pumped up. So I decided to take off school and head out to make the first cast of 2014.
So me and my girlfriends brother headed out to the dam. He needed to buy his fishing license and some bait so he could fish. So we stopped at a little bait and tackle shop on the way. I looked around for a little bit while he got his license. I couldn't find any live bait for him so we had to drive another 20 minutes until we found another little bait shop that had some. Luckily it was his aunts and we got the bait for free. So we started to head out to the damn finally until he said that he wanted to swap out trucks with his dad.
So we headed back to town found his dad and swap out trucks. That took another half hour away from our fishing time. By the time we got to the dam it was raining, sleeting, snowing, and everything else that mother nature could trow at us. We didn't even sit out there for about 20 mins when he fianally said that he was cold and didn't want to fish anymore. He was my ride so I had to go back to town.
So me taking off from school, running around for 2 hours and getting soaked I did manage to get my line wet for the first time for 2014. But I didn't get a fish in fact I didn't even get a nibble. But I still have the rest of the year and I'm going to be looking forward to it. I have a trip to Ceder Point Ohio to fish on Lake Erie also I'm going down to Belmar New Jersey to fish for some fluke and sea bass. Also I might be booking more trips this year so I can fish all over. So I have the rest of the year to go.
